Political Movies
Hollywood loves the making and breaking of myths, the lofty goals that men set for themselves and the down-and-dirty means they employ to achieve those ends. It is fascinated with people in conflict over how to run their corner of the world. In other words, Hollywood (shorthand here for the worldwide movie industry) loves politics.
The focus of this list is mostly on American political players, systems, and issues. There are no documentaries. For the most part, spy stories are not included, even though spies are run by governments with political agendas — for those movies see “Espionage Movies.” There might be exceptions, of course. Just like in politics itself.
